Mom has been struggling with her leg again, and last night things got so bad we ended up calling 911 early this morning for fear she was having another TIA. Thankfully it turned out she wasn't; in fact, the EMT thought from the start she probably wasn't, but of course he couldn't say for certain, so we still had to go to the hospital. One CT scan, multiple ultrasounds, one MRI, and four long hours after all of that while we waited for the final opinion of the neurosurgeon later, we went home with mom having been pumped up with fluids and advice for improving her blood circulation, which was likely the cause of the trouble. But also the knowledge that she's definitely never recovering from that stroke fully, and in fact is likely to slowly get worst as the years go on. The only alternative likely would've been surgery, and she was never a good candidate for that for multiple reasons.
Mom will nonetheless probably still have another conversation with a neurologist after this; we'll likely make the arrangements sometime this week. I, meanwhile, am back in contact with the IT guy, though he still hasn't been the best of correspondents, and with Hotelpocalypse this week, he knows I'm home on Wednesday. Except if he doesn't want to come look at my computer that day, I may finally get to the DMV that afternoon.
