All weekend and today we have been bombarded with news of Winter Storm Juno, and here in DC, where its edges creep, we have been teased with predictions of snow. So far there has been light bouts of snow and occasionally thicker spells of sleet, but so far nothing sticking. Apparently we may get as much as three inches. At one point everyone in the library was hoping to get the day off tomorrow, but now it seems not, and as we officially meet our new director tomorrow morning(though she dropped in late today), I don't know how many people would even take advantage of a two hour delay; I don't think I'd take more than an hour of it myself. Although I come in late, so...we have really been told very little about our new director. It is a nervous thing, waiting to see what the powerful person does when you have no clear idea what she is planning.
Speaking of big things we have little control over, the water still has not been fixed, meaning one had to troop back and fourth to and from the main building through the sleet to fill a water bottle. We have received no further notice of when this problem will be resolved. I've started thinking the water from the fountain just inside the main building's north parking entrance tastes strange, though that might just be my mind playing tricks on me. It has been up to weird things; today the carts I have spent months pushing about felt far heavier than usual, which makes no sense at all.
Whether there will be a Trip ficlet tomorrow may depend heavily on how much time the snow buys me, but I'm leaning towards not. I'm now thinking there will be four more, possibly five.
