At least today was good
Feb. 8th, 2015 07:30 pmFor weeks now I've had a weird rash on my hands, especially between my right ring finger and pinky, which has always acted up the most at work, but Friday it got so bad my hand was breaking out and bleeding I couldn't bend anything without pain. About that time I made an appointment with the doctor for Tuesday morning, and with a longstanding dental appointment tomorrow afternoon I only have to get through a shortened Monday, except I don't know if he's going to find a solution.
Still, that doesn't bother me as much when I'm at home. So naturally last night one of the cats knocked over my desk lamp and shattered the bulb. The lamp itself was fine once I retightened the shade, except the bottom of the bulb is now stuck in the socket, and we don't have any nose pliers, potatoes, or duct tape in the house, at least one of which is apparently required for home remedies of that situation. Instead mom is taking the lamp to a fix-it shop.
Today I fled to Tyson's Corner, where I actually had a much better day than I've had in a while. It helped that it was nice out; I was even able to walk home carrying my coat. I enjoyed a lunch out, bought some new earrings and a book with blurbs about the the Beatles' songs, and had to fight the urge to go dancing crazy down the metro platform when "Shake it Off" came up on Pandora. I was really in a crazy good mood coming home; I'm not even sure why. I also made an addition to the #IWasVaccinatedAsAChild hashtag on Twitter I'm particularly proud of and got more attention than I usually get.
Still feeling more cheerful than before, while debating whether to bother with either the hockey game going on right now or the Grammys.
